Biography

Elesia VanBuren presents with an energetic and vibrant model of solution focused beliefs that
helps to support and ignite individual creativity, resourcefulness and wholeness of clients
serviced. This approach, known as the co-active model moderates that everyone possesses the
capacity for knowing what is best for their lives and with various techniques applied which helps
explore, reinforce, and support those ideas. Elesia strives to assist her clients in meeting their
goals towards achieving their best possible life. As a therapist, the focus is on helping clients
develop empowering tools leading towards healthier more fulfilling purposeful lives.

As a Certified Clinical Counselor, Supervised Visitation Monitor; Mediation Specialist; Father’s
in Training and Mother’s and Families Facilitator; Conflict Resolution Mediator; Life Coach;
and Diploma Substance Abuse Counselor. Elesia brings a robust set of tools to the table to
facilitate an array of client needs helping to service a unique and holistic approach towards
empowering and changing outlooks on life conditions.
Elesia has significant experience working with children, adolescents and adults within the autism
spectrum as well as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief counseling, trauma-related concerns,
child intervention/termination services, traumatic brain injury hand-on-hand services, mood
disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma related concerns, personality disorders, substance abuse,
seasonal affective disorders (SAD), life/social barriers, incarceration, LGBTQ lifestyle
acceptance, family division, social skills training, Borderline Personality Disorder; and
developmental disabilities.

Elesia strives at taking a client-centered and holistic approach to working with clients by
addressing all aspects of their lives, to reduce phase of life barriers. As an active member of the
American Counseling Association, Elesia earned her Master’s degree from The University of
Oklahoma with a focus in Counseling/Human Relations and her Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral
Social Psychology from Park University. As a United States Army career soldier and veteran,
Elesia’s client population benefit from her emphasis on how they can improve relationships and
interpersonal communication styles collectively by engaging clients to move forward in life
without limitations.

Elesia works with clients in the community and in-home settings, believing that rapport building is a critical tool to success in her relationships with her clients and she meets them where they are in crisis or life stage, utilizing her clinical counseling and behavioral change expertise to develop action-oriented, goal-directed results driven by coaching strategic solutions.   

The Willow Tree Counseling, L.L.C. provides available support to clients by coaching over the telephone and through audio-visual call programs, which allows secured privacy through digital standards of encryption.

Online coaching is easy to use and allows clients to communicate on the telephone or directly through their computers in face-to-face meetings with their coach to supplement in-office coaching sessions for busy clients who cannot always make it in as planned.  Online services can also be beneficial for some clients whose disorders, such as a fear of driving or agoraphobia, make it difficult for them to make it into the office.
